They’re at it again! Year 5’s Chestnuts class are on another mission to help those that are less fortunate than ourselves. Great British values are key to our school life and the Year 5 charity team have once again proved they have it in abundance! Their charity day to help ‘Canine Partners’ took place on Monday 1st June 2015.
Canine Partners is a charity that trains dogs to assist those with disabilities to live life to their fullest. From doing the weekly shop, loading the washing machine, all the way to hanging out the washing, these dogs are trained to do jobs that some people with disabilities find near impossible to do themselves. It unfortunately comes at a great cost, and that’s where the Year 5 led charity day comes in.
A cake stall and raffle was held, and the children were invited to come dressed as dogs! The school raised over £100! Well done! Thanks to all the members of the community that supported us.
